2024 VERMONT GO CHAMPIONSHIP
Sunday, June 2nd, 2024
IMPORTANT VENUE UPDATE: The event will now be held at Axinn Center room 220 (which is just a short walk along Old Chapel Road across from Warner Hall). Park anywhere nearby. (Access to the building is on Old Chapel Road opposite McCullough Student Center.) Due to college preparations for some other upcoming events, Warner turned out to be off-limits for Sunday. But the new room is very nice with lots of windows and a pretty view (which might be an improvement over the basement rooms we typically use.)
The Vermont Go Club is excited to host the 2024 Vermont Go Championship on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, in beautiful Middlebury, Vermont!
Vermont Championship Division
The Vermont Championship Division is open to the 8 highest ranked Vermont Go Players (determined by their current AGA rating). All games in this division are even! The first round will have 8 players, the next round consists of the 4 winners from the previous round, and the final game will be between the remaining two players. There will be no play-off for third place. Participants who lose a game in the Vermont Championship Division will get added to the following round of the Main (Handicap) Division. So everyone gets to play 3 games!

Food / Drinks
A few light snacks and beverages will be provided by the organizers. Lunch is not provided, but there are several food establishments within walking distance of the venue.
Games can go long in byo-yomi, and there is not a lot of time between rounds, so it may be a good idea to bring your own lunch. Plan ahead so that you can check in 10 minutes before each round begins.
Masks COVID / Flu season
You are welcome to wear a mask during the event to reduce the spread of viruses. Masks will not be provided by the event organizers, so please bring your own if you plan to wear one. Please do not attend the event if you are feeling unwell or have any cold or flu symptoms. Thank you!
